Okay.. I am very new.

I currently have 2 free forums.. one is by proboards so I am getting some experience with code work in headers and footers and the other is a free ad forum with the hope of picking up some tips from those who have their own sights... But my goal is to have a site of my own. And from what I have read I need to know something about scripts. Now if I am in the wrong place please tell me.. but if this is a starting point, then this is where I need to be.

Hi Sassy, From what I can gather there are quite a few people here with a great deal of scripting knowledge (Dennis being the obvious one).

I'd pick php as your 'server-side' language to start learning. It's a great first language, very forgiving to the newcommer, and widely supported by most hosts.

Thank you for you warm response. I can honestly say that I am a blank slate, when it comes to this topic. A fast learner and I have alot of determination.. But my goal is to have a regular site.. one that I can promote on as well as sell promotions. I would also like to be able to add a forum to it and have a top referrer list. I want to be able to add a program that lets me give every member their own referal id url. The free forum places that I currently use can't seem to help me w/these issues. I am sure all of this sounds very beginner to you.. that is, because I am
