Summary: The book worked for me!
Comment: I don't know what the reader from Huntingdon, PA (too scared to put his/her name) was trying to do with Hoque's book, but I found this book extremely helpful. There is no book that is perfect. Despite some minor typos in the book, I loved the fact that the author took the time to create a secure web site, had a great CD and explained code in a very user friendly manner in the book. I highly recoomend this to others like me who have no expertise on the web

Summary: Wana Learn JavaScript, Buy This Book
Comment: I am very impressed with this book. I think the author did a great job on it. His secure site idea is a great one and helps to keep myself updated with the JS technology. I have cut and pasted lots of his code from the CD (the CD has over 100s of code as the author promises). The book does not talk about other technologies and explain JS syntax and examples in a very easy to understand manner. A must buy!!!

Summary: There are many other books that are better than this one
Comment: I bought this book about a year and a half ago and have started and re-started reading it 4 or 5 times. Each time, I quit reading due to frustration. I was hoping to teach myself JavaScript, but could not do it with this book. It is not clearly written and it contains numerous errors. Finally, I bought another book and have learned more in 2 weeks than I have in almost 2 years with this book! The only saving grace of this book is the CD that comes with it. There are plenty of sample scripts and programs that can be copied into your own HTML code. However, I found that these also contain errors as well!
